Biography

Laurent Mäusli (b. in 1977) is born in Sierre, Switzerland and is based in Vevey, Switzerland. In another life he was an airline flight attendant. After five and half years he left aviation to study in the Photography School of Vevey during four years. He graduated in 2008 and now works as a freelance photographer.
In his photographic work, he enjoys challenging the viewer’s perception of reality. Nothing is quite as it seems. The first impression often turns out to be far from the truth. He focuses on the minute and unimpressive details of everyday life and shed a new light on them.
Despite being a trained photographer, he does not mind using the moving pictures
if he finds this medium more appropriate to convey certain ideas. Video and sound editing are new fields which enables him to explore different perspectives and nourishes his photographic work.
